Alma Luna

Director, Little Tykes II

With over a decade of experience in childcare, Alma Luna is a passionate leader dedicated to fostering a high-quality learning environment at Little Tykes II, where she has been for the past three years. As Director, she finds joy in guiding and supporting her team, building strong relationships with staff and families, and helping new families navigate the early childhood experience with care and support.

Based in Chicago, IL, Alma enjoys exploring new restaurants as a true foodie and indulging in shopping adventures. She shares her home with a lovable Maltese dog. When it's time to unwind, she enjoys pop music, rewatching Taken, and savoring her favorite cuisine—Italian food, especially pasta!

Tierra

Assistant Director

Tierra joined the YMDC family in 2020. Prior to joining the team she graduated from “ American Musical & Dramatic Academy” studying musical theatre. She has many years of working with children of all ages. Nourishing the minds of children and creating a rich environment for them to explore is such a rewarding gift. As well as inspiring creativity and helping them explore the world around them.

Young Minds has been a fantastic experience for our family. My kids love their teachers and their friends. It seems like every staff member knows every kid by name, even if they aren't in class together. My kids regularly come home with brand new skills - from counting to ten in Spanish to saying "Happy Mother's Day!" in sign language to putting their cup at the top of their plate so it doesn't spill. As parents we've had a wonderful relationship with the staff - they've helped us support our children's development in the ways that the children needed and given us context for what is normal (SO appreciated!). They're a Level 4 Path to Quality center, which I appreciate because it means they've sought out ways to improve and to continue that improvement by investing in the center and its staff.

My children & I LOVE young minds. As a mother who had never sent her children to daycare I was a bit nervous especially sending my youngest baby who couldn’t talk at the time. They’ve made the transition so EASY and now my daughter LOVES coming to daycare! My older school aged children take every opportunity they can to come as well. 🥰 The staff is amazing and caring! I would 1000/10 recommend young minds to anyone! 💚

We've been with Young Minds for a few months now, and all I can say is WOW! The second you walk in, you're greated with warm, friendly faces. Our son always is so eager to go and hardly ever wants to leave. The curriculum is on point. Every day he is learning something new. We love it!

We have been apart of YMDC family for about 3 years now! Absolutely love the care that they provide for my little one. When we first transitioned to YMDC the teachers along with Admin staff helped made the transition easy! When I first joined YMDC I was looking for childcare that provided a parent monitoring system, this is the best part (being able to keep up to date with your child) while you are working or attending school. It would be nice to continue afterschool care as well!

My three year old goes to daycare/preschool here!!! She is so excited to arrive every morning. The staff is warm and welcoming and truly supportive of our family. They have recently achieved level 4 on Pathways to Quality, and you can really tell based on the curriculum! Would recommend enthusiastically!
